Join Soso Ní Cheallaigh and Billí Mills for a relaxed ciorcal comhrá (‘Irish conversation circle’) exploring disability through the Irish language. This relaxed and collaborative session will introduce existing tearmaí related to disability while providing space for participants to co-create new terms from their own creativity and experiences.

Beginner-friendly, stimming-encouraged, and all welcome!

Who are Fócloir Faoi Mhíchumas?

Meeting as practitioners with their beloved Rogue Encounters, Soso & Billí are a creative duo of disabled artists who use movement, performance, and their native Irish language to connect and empower communities. Growing up in Gaeltacht areas, language has been central to their identities and artistic work. Their practice explores how the Irish language can express the lived experience of disability, while challenging how language defines and limits us. They aim to co-create new, inclusive terminology that reflects contemporary perspectives, sparking dialogue and building understanding through creative, accessible experiences.

Fócloir Faoi Mhíchumas was developed with support and funding from University of Atypical for Arts and Disability through funding from Community Foundation NI – Ultach Fund.
