‘the one with the shadow’, an original artwork by Brendan Lonergan, hangs high high on the infamous Temple Bar blue wall of Project Arts Centre, with a beautiful message for all who look. “No matter our size we all cast big shadows… All we need is the opportunity & the right lighting”
Brendan Lonergan is a sketch artist, documenting moments through his life with humour and creativity. A 43-year-old person with Cystic Fibrosis, much of his early life was spent in hospital, where he used the arts to fill long days, as a fun way to let people know he was in hospital again, and, maybe most importantly, as a way to express his feelings and emotions, usually in very silly ways.
He continues to use creativity as an outlet, embracing play, humour and a bit of nonsense as part of his approach. Brendan tries not to let CF define him, making decisions with happiness as the hopeful outcome while remaining curious about the mystery of what lies ahead.
