1 February 2025

Below are the events that took place in our first year.

Two glittering disco balls with sparkles all around them in pale pastel colours.Behind this are wavy pink lines in bright cerise, some are blurred and others are sharp, the contrast gives the impression of motion.

Festival Opening Party

Artist Suzanne Walsh sits in front of the window of a bird hide. The room is black and the only light comes from the window, it barely illuminates her face. Through the window a marshy landscape is visible. Suzanne holds a list in her hand. The left of the image fades to black and against this are bright cerise pink painterly lines.

Festival Opening Performance: Lazarus Lingua by Suzanne Walsh

Image of an artwork by Ruth Le Gear. An iridescent orb floats on a black background. Blue, purple and mauve colours swirl across its glasslike surface. The image resembles that of a planet in deep space.

Distinct Exhibition

Artist Michelle Hall is performing. They have long brown hair tied in a bun and black framed glasses. They are in a room full of people listening attentively. The lights in the room have a warm orange glow. The left of the image fades to black and against this are bright cerise pink painterly lines.

Workshop with Michelle Hall

Performer Christopher Bailey. Christopher is dressed in a suit and looking upwards with his hand clasped in front of him. He stands in front of a red velvet curtain. Around him are bright pink swirls and wavy lines.

The Vanishing Point with Christopher Bailey

Banner for the Disrupt Disability Arts Festival. The festival logo, a large white ‘D’, sits on a black background in the centre. In the top right and bottom left corners, there are wavy pink lines in bright cerise. Behind them are blurred lines of the same colour giving the impression of motion.

Dis-Gender; Disability and Gender identity

Artist Aisling Reina is standing in a dark space. Their face is illuminated by a bright light. Aisling has short blue hair and is wearing a bright orange jacket. Behind Aisling, like a shadow, there is a light purple ephemeral shape, it is wispy and transparent.
